As reported by 9to5Mac, the Student Plan of Apple Music is hiked by a dollar in the US, and Euro in the UK – costing $5.99 and €5.99 a month now. The rest of the plans remain the same as they’re now, so Apple is yet to make a formal announcement regarding the Student Plan hike.
Hiking Apple Music Student Plan
One of the most lucrative services from Apple – Apple Music is increasing the student plan cost in the US, UK, and Canada. This was spotted by a 9to5Mac reader, who noted the change in pricing for students.
— Michael Burkhardt (@tme_michael) June 23, 2022 Apple offers a discounted version of Apple Music to eligible students for $4.99 a month, which would otherwise cost $9.99 a month for the regular users. A family plan comparison of upto six people costs $14.99 a month, and the Apple Music Voice Plan – where users can only listen through Siri, costs $4.99 a month. Though it’s a stripped-down version of the actual subscription, the Voice plan can actually be good for hands-free users, who use iPhones or speakers. They can order Siri to play their desired songs, and can even get personalized suggestions and trending recommendations. The student plan, though, is available everywhere where Apple Music is available. The company has increased the price of Apple Music in South Africa, India, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, and Israel last month, and now doing the same in Canada, the UK, and the US. This happened less than a couple of days ago since the archived version of the Apple Music pricing page still shows the old prices for the student plan. Thus, expect Apple to soon make a formal announcement of the new price hike.
