The latest update is that Apple has started hiring employees for its upcoming offline retail stores in India. This got confirmed via a LinkedIn post by Nidhi Sharma, a recruiter at Apple, that reads, “TODAY MARKS ONE OF THE MAJOR MILESTONES IN CREATING HISTORY FOR APPLE RETAIL IN INDIA… WE ARE NOW LIVE IN INDIA AND WE ARE BRINGING OUR VERY 1ST 2 STORES TO INDIA IN MUMBAI & DELHI!” The first store is expected to come up at the Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai, followed by the second store in Delhi. The job descriptions reportedly mention the term “Apple Store” and highlight that the employees will have to work with customers visiting the retail store. Currently, the company sells its products offline through authorized resellers but after the opening of official Apple Stores, customers will get a first-hand experience of the company’s products before purchasing them and also get the necessary support for devices purchased. As per an ET report, the first Apple Store will open on August 15, 2022, coinciding with India’s Independence Day. The third store will open in Bengaluru and again, one more store will be started in both Delhi and Mumbai in the coming years.
