Dizo Watch S Review: Price & Availability
Dizo Watch S is priced at Rs. 2499 and comes in 3 strap colors- Golden Pink, Classic Black, and Silver Blue. It retails via Flipkart.
Dizo Watch S Review: Design
Dizo Watch S looks really stylish with the rectangular curved dial, metal frame, and detachable 20mm silicone straps. The straps are available in 3 beautiful colors- Silver Blue, Golden Pink, and Classic Black. I was loaned the Golden Pink variant for review and I loved the color. There are thick pink bezels around the display which look ok but could have been avoided. Otherwise too, it is a beautiful shade of pink which looks elegant on your wrist. The build quality feels good due to the metal frame but the straps are strictly average. Though the silicone straps are most comfortable to wear it does tend to get a bit sweaty when worn for long hours due to summer heat. The watch weighs 39.9 grams which makes it feel bulky at times. The right edge of the dial has the main button to navigate the UI and switch the watch on/off. The bottom houses sports sensors and magnetic charging pins. The Dizo Watch S comes with an IP68 water resistance rating to protect it against dust and sweat. This made it apt for use while indoor and outdoor workouts. It claims to have resistance against 1.5 meters underwater for half an hour but I can’t vouch for this claim as I did not try it. ALSO READ: Realme Pad Mini Review
Dizo Watch S Review: Display & Watch Faces
The Dizo Watch S features a 1.57-inch display with 550 nits of peak brightness. The brightness can be adjusted as per convenience but even maximum brightness sometimes doesn’t give a clear view of the screen under bright sunlight. At night the brightness of 20-30% was enough. The scrolling on the watch display is smooth and the touch is responsive as well. The text displayed on it is readable as the size of the screen is big. The spacing between fonts and icons was decent so it is easy to navigate between options. Coming to the quality of the display panel, the TFT display is very average as the colors look faded on it. The Xiaomi Band 5 is priced at about Rs. 300 above has an AMOLED display which gives much better visuals. The screen has a 200×320 pixel resolution and this is a saving grace as visuals are clear because of this high resolution. You also get options to customize watch faces according to your needs.
Dizo Watch S Review: Performance & Health Features
Dizo Watch S comes with a ‘Raise to work’ feature which works seamlessly. With the help of this feature, one can silence/reject the calls with the help of your watch. You will be able to check notifications too but won’t be able to reply back, so for calling back or texting back you will need your smartphone. Notification alerts will come with vibration while the music control, camera control, alarm, and stopwatch all work decently as well. The smartwatch has support for Dizo App and the app is very user-friendly and easy to operate. The color theme of the Dizo App is white and yellow which is easy on the eyes. You can easily find what you want and manage it as per your needs. There are not too many options to check from and the homepage displays shortcuts for step counter, heart rate monitor, etc. The UI is very smooth and I did not experience any stutters or lags during my usage. The connection of Watch S to a smartphone is quick and smooth with the help of Bluetooth v5.0 connectivity. Smartphones having Android 5.0 and ios 9.0 and above can use sync with Dizo Watch S. The watch faces can be customized and personalized as per need. One can also use a watch face that shows health-related data on the home screen. One can get drinking water and sedentary reminders too if you have it turned on. Some watch functions are-
Swiping down shows notificationsLeft swipe takes you to basic control settingsRight swipe takes you to shortcut appsTo return to the previous screen, press the button on the right side or swipe left again.
Mostly, UI functions similar to other Realme watches. There are some app icons for apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, Gmail, and more which come in handy when you need to use these apps via Watch S. These days smartwatches and bands come with a variety of health tracking features which prove to be useful at times. Dizo Watch S is no different as it comes with 110 sports modes with indoor and outdoor sports to choose from. It has a heart rate monitor, SpO2 monitor, calories counters, steps counter, sleep monitor, etc. Talking about the accuracy, the heart rate and SpO2 monitor give somewhat the same reading as health monitoring equipment but step tracking is not very accurate. The watch counts steps with every shake of the hand which adds extra steps while walking. The sleep tracking also doesn’t count the exact sleeping and waking time so this needs to be fixed asap. The sports mode I used was for brisk walking and it was ok but could have been more accurate. The menstrual cycle tracking is a big help for sure. Dizo has announced that it will soon roll out in-app GPS mode for the Dizo app which will allow the users to track their activity route and share it with their friends. This feature can’t be checked as of now, but can be useful when it launches in the future.
Dizo Watch S Review: Battery
The battery life provided by Dizo for Watch S is pretty impressive. The company claims that the watch can last up to 10 days with regular usage and their claim did prove to be true as the 200mAh battery lasted for 9-11 days for me. During my usage, I had to charge the battery only once which is very good. The watch gets magnetic charging and takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to charge completely. There were absolutely no heating issues while wearing or charging the smartwatch. ALSO READ: Realme Buds Q2s Review: Basic Smart Buy for under 2k price point?
Dizo Watch S Review Verdict: Should you buy it?
The Dizo Watch S is a beautiful and useful option for under the 3k price range in terms of the smartwatch. The elegant design, long battery life, good features, useful health monitors, and easy-to-use app support make it worthy of its tagged price. The watch comes with 110+ sports modes and is protected against dust and water too which makes it apt for everyday usage. Although it has a TFT display, is uncomfortable to wear for long, feels bulky, and does not allow responding to calls/messages, but then one can’t get all those features in a 2.5k watch. If you need a smartwatch that looks good and performs basic functions, then Dizo Watch S can be your choice. However, if you need more features, then opt for Xiaomi Band 5 which comes at a slightly higher price point.
