Toyota Mirai Hydrogen fuel-cell-powered car launch in India
Toyota Mirai hybrid has arrived in India. Unlike the ongoing trend of electric vehicles, Mirai uses Hydrogen Fuel Cells to power itself and promises a 30% range than its previous generation along with better handling. Moreover, Mirai can be fueled up similar to petrol or diesel cars in India reducing the time it takes to recharge the car where electric vehicles show a shortcoming at the moment. Toyota Mirai will have a 600km range on a single car which is another USP of India’s first-ever Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle. Mirai has considered one of the best hybrid Hydrogen Fuel Cell powered cars and has arrived in many markets before making its debut in India last week.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor and the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) will conduct a pilot study program to test out the feasibility of Hydrogen fuel cells, investigate their performance and analyze the data to find the outcomes. Minister Nitin Gadkari too facilitated the program that will swing into action soon.
Toyota Camry to get a facelift soon
After the Toyota Mirai, the car manufacturer also has plans to introduce a Toyota Camry Hybrid that will use the flex-fuel in India once it arrives. Minister Nitin Gadkari too updated about the same at the Mirai launch.
