The Full Self-Driving (FSD) is a premium service available for select Tesla owners and includes the standard autopilot plus additional smart features like automatic lane changing, Smart Summon, etc. Aside from the price increase, Musk said the new FSD Beta (v10.9) is coming this week.
Tesla Premium Autopilot Costs Increased
Apart from being one of the stylish cars today, Tesla is well-known for its smart driving features like semi autopilot modes and tracking. While the EV company is still in Level 2 of autopilot technology, it’s thrilling the customers enough with what it had. One of them includes the premium autopilot mode, which is called the Full Self-Driving (FSD). As of now, Tesla’s Model S, X, Y, and 3 come with the standard autopilot stuff, which includes the forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane keeping, and adaptive cruise control. And the premium version of this technology is sold separately, which includes the standard autopilot features plus the automatic lane-changing, stop light recognition, and smart summon. Even with all these features, the Tesla cars are still not ready for full automatic drives.

This is subject to increase upto $12,000, says Elon Musk on his Twitter account. Also, the monthly subscription varient of FSD too will be increased, confirmed Musk to a customer. The change in costs will only affect the US customers as of now and starts from January 17th. Aside from this, Musk also said the next update to FSD Beta (v10.9) should be ready by this week. This includes unreleased features to try, and is available to select Tesla owners who pay for the subscription, and have a good safety score as per Tesla.
